There’s a funny story behind my photographing “The Ultimate New Wave Band” while swimming in a sea of heavy metal, glam, and early grunge groups. I had secretly loved these guys since the very early ’80s. OK, so big deal, I was also a huge Duran Duran fan, SO THERE! But I digress. The short version of this story was that I simply just went to their record label and got a press pass. There I was a few weeks later at Dodger Stadium. I was thrilled to not be watching baseball, but instead photographing this amazing, spiritual experience of a lifetime! The “Violator” tour was epic! A hot summer night in L.A. with Depeche Mode up close and personal — who can ask for anything more?
