These dudes were in my opinion, one of the first Grunge bands EVER! I mean it was 1989. Nobody at that time looked like these guys or acted like them. I believe they never got the credit they deserved for originality. They had the funniest ads for their gigs that said stuff like “Hair by God,” which was a jab at all the other hair bands who would mention the salon or stylist who did their hair. Oh, and the groceries in these photos, strictly their idea! I remember I shot them at my mom and pops’ place because they had a huge living room. My mom answered the door and said “Marcie, your characters are here.” (She used to call a lot of the bands that came over that name).  With Grindstone, the name really fits… they really were characters.
